MEMPHIS MISRAIM
THE NETHERLANDS
Egyptian Freemasonry welcomes individuals of all genders, social backgrounds, and professions. Dispelling common misconceptions, Freemasonry is not an exclusive society but rather a brotherhood and sisterhood that embraces sincere people from all walks of life.
If you are considering joining the Rite of Memphis-Misraim, it is essential to reflect on your motivations. By examining what motivates you, you will be better prepared to request membership to our Lodge. It is important that you are able to pay the yearly contribution and that you have the time to attend our meetings on a regular basis, to engage in personal study and daily practice.
To become a Freemason, you must be at least 21 years of age. During the admission process, you will be evaluated by three Brothers/Sisters who must demonstrate your qualifications within the Lodge.
Joining an esoteric Lodge is slightly different from joining a regular masonic Lodge. We are a discrete organisation and out of respect for the privacy of our members we do not organize information days.
When you send us your application for membership please include a mundane and esoteric resume plus a motivational letter. If we wish to proceed further with your application on the basis of the provided documents, you will be assigned a contact person. This Brother or Sister will assist you during the application process by having an informal phone-call or meet up for a coffee to answer all your questions and to get familiar with the Lodge.
When both the Lodge and you feel ready to proceed, you are invited for an interview. This interview takes place at a private location to which you will be escorted under a blindfold for the interview in the presence of Lodge members. This process might make you feel a bit uncomfortable but is meant to guarantee the sincerity and qualifications of the applicant.
The application will include:
Note: the information you provide in your application can be shared with other Brothers and Sisters for the purpose of examining your application and will be handled discretely.
We come together in the Hague.
We meet four times a year for initiations. Our initiating Officers meet more often to attend the Lodge of Instruction. Our meetings are during the weekend and last the whole day, including the evening if we are organising an Agape (a brotherly meal). In the future we want to increase the number of meetings of our Lodge to once a month.
We also organise lectures, instruction and degree study through Zoom software on a regular basis.
Yes the Rite of Memphis-Misraim acepts both men and women into the Lodge.
We charge a small initiation fee of 65.- to cover our costs for printing degree books and re-supplying our incense, candles etc.
Our yearly dues are 170.- to cover our costs of running the organisation.
